Born into a family of builders and architects that have worked in the Baltimore area for five generations, architecture has always been a huge part of Mike’s life. He is a true Baltimorean, and he cares deeply for his city.
As founding principal and president of Urban Design Group, Mike manages the firm’s personnel to create innovative designs that meet the needs of UDG’s clients. With over twenty years of experience in historic preservation, land-use, urban planning, commercial /retail design, and multi-family residential architecture, Mike is extremely knowledgeable. He brings this wide range of experience and love of Baltimore to each project, enabling him to meet his clients’ budgets, programs, and schedules.
Mike is an active board member for Historic Federal Hill Main Street and is the current Design Chair. He also sits on the steering committee for the Baltimore Development Workgroup (BDW).
Mike’s love of Baltimore has always spurred him to be involved in community organizations that have an impact on the city’s architecture.
When Mike is not at work, he can be found investigating Baltimore’s culinary scene with his wife, Kumiko, and his loyal sidekick/dog, Mozart.
