Born into a family of builders and architects that have worked in the Baltimore area for five generations, architecture has always been a huge part of Mike’s life. He is a true Baltimorean, and he cares deeply for his city.

 

As founding principal and president of Urban Design Group, Mike manages the firm’s personnel to create innovative designs that meet the needs of UDG’s clients. With over twenty years of experience in historic preservation, land-use, urban planning, commercial /retail design, and multi-family residential architecture, Mike is extremely knowledgeable. He brings this wide range of experience and love of Baltimore to each project, enabling him to meet his clients’ budgets, programs, and schedules.

 

Mike is an active board member for Historic Federal Hill Main Street and is the current Design Chair. He also sits on the steering committee for the Baltimore Development Workgroup (BDW).

Mike’s love of Baltimore has always spurred him to be involved in community organizations that have an impact on the city’s architecture.

 

When Mike is not at work, he can be found investigating Baltimore’s culinary scene with his wife, Kumiko, and his loyal sidekick/dog, Mozart.

Patrick Lundberg

PRINCIPAL

As a Principal of Urban Design Group, Pat manages the day-to-day operations of the firm and serves as the primary contact for clients throughout the design and development process.  With over 15 years of professional experience, Pat has developed a specialty within multifamily, adaptive re-use, and industrial project types.  He has the ability to fuse the needs and requirements of the project with the ecologically-driven design fundamentals of the firm.


With a focus on the aforementioned project types, Pat has achieved success on a number of complex projects.  His expertise includes a wide range of construction types and methodologies, a well as project types with varying operational requirements.  He understands the complexities of the work, and demonstrates an expert ability in combining the needs of the client, manager, and future users with design and environmental aspirations.  Resulting is the ability to achieve success and surpass expectations, positively contributing to the built environment while optimizing performance and success.


As principal-in-charge, Pat is the primary client contact throughout all phases of the project, and oversees the internal project team.  He collaborates internally to see that the goals and vision of the project are being met, and that deliverables are being provided to the standards of the project and the client.  He provides design and drawing review throughout, to confirm that all applicable guidelines and code requirements are met.
